Care for our wood products
At Jay Tout En Bois, our wooden boards, trays and products are designed to be durable, practical, and easy to maintain.
Our products are protected with a professional-grade Osmo finish, known for offering more durable protection than conventional mineral oil. Unlike a board oiled only with mineral oil, our products generally do not need to be constantly re-oiled after a few uses.
That said, wood remains a natural material. Good maintenance helps preserve its appearance, stability, and durability.
Daily Cleaning
Always wash your product by hand with warm water and mild soap.
Never:
- put in the dishwasher;
- let soak in water;
- expose to excessive heat;
- leave to dry upright for too long in a very humid place;
- use harsh chemicals.
After washing, wipe immediately with a clean cloth and let air dry.
Recommended Maintenance
Thanks to the Osmo finish, maintenance is reduced compared to a traditional mineral oil finish.
Over time, depending on use, washing frequency, and exposure to humidity, the surface may become duller or show slight signs of wear. This is normal.
If you wish to refresh your product, you can:
1. Clean the product and let it dry completely.
2. Lightly sand the surface with 220-grit sandpaper.
3. Remove all dust with a clean cloth.
4. Apply a thin coat of Osmo TopOil 3025, according to the manufacturer's recommendations. The product may be available from specialized retailers, paint distributors, wood suppliers, or online stores depending on your region.
If in doubt, contact Jay Tout En Bois before applying any product or performing maintenance to confirm the recommended method for your item.
5. Allow to dry according to the manufacturer's recommendations before reusing the product.

Important
Even with a quality finish, no natural wood product is indestructible. Cracks, deformations, stains, or damage caused by improper maintenance, prolonged immersion in water, dishwashing, excessive heat, or abusive use are not considered manufacturing defects.
Proper maintenance is essential to prolong the life of your product.
